The Japanese Youngsters Love Chanel!

Ever wonder?
Chanel for boys?
Chanel for men?
But, NOW, my answer is : YES! YES! YES!

All along, I try to refrain from setting my eyes on Chanel, because, I always have this fixation, that Chanel is for ladies! I was so wrong!!! My frequent visits to Fashion of Tokyo, has proven that!

The Japanese youngsters are welcoming vintage Chanel pieces with both arms and legs! I was amazed! I was flabbergasted! I am in awe!

It has never occur to me, boys or men could wear Chanel pieces so effordlessly!

Maybe I should start, sourcing for my very own vintage Chanel pieces, and adorn myself, with what I previously regard as feminine!

Chanel, here I come!!

Japanese Fashion

Lately, I have been breathing in Japanese street fashion, by visiting the Japanese blogs!

The rumour is TRUE, Japanese street fashion IS crazy!
I have not been to Japan myself, but I have heard so much good praises about their street fashion scenes are eccentric! I totally agree!

I have only two words to describe Japanese street fashion : WEIRD & ABSURD, which is a good thing! Because, because of them, it makes fashion a lot more livelier and fun! Fashion is NOT just about how right/perfect, things get together. It can also mean, how wrong things get mashed up together to create the unique fashion, which is only available in Japan!

I made a studies, and found out that, there are about 5 major elements one must adopt, in order to dress like them :-

1) You must have NO colour-sense!
Non-complementing colour contrasts, the ugliest the contrast, the better the effect!

2) Funny hair-cut
Regardless whether it (the haircut) suits your face shape or not, the priority is, DARE to be different!
It seems to me, we are compromising beauty with DARE to be different!

3) Funny colorful McDonald shoes! The bigger the better!
I am a shoes lover, and I have difficulty finding a picture featuring a pair of beautiful heels / sneaks!

4) Super Layering!
The more layers you wear, the better it is! The objective it to create "Christmas Tree" feel!

5) There is NO-RULE on the entire streets of Japan!
The silhouette is to achieve a non-proportionate fashion sense! Table-cloth to match with Hermes scarves, or layer with cheap stockings and lots of rugs!

Here are the classic examples:-

Do you agree with me? :)

Hermes + Vans = Excellence

First of all, don't get me wrong!
Hermes does not have any collaboration project with streetwear shoes maker, Vans.
It was Robert Verdi, the creater, who custom made his Vans sneakers with his Hermes vintage scarves!

I must say, the result was extra-ordinary!
Who would thought of such crazy idea, to bring Heaven and Earth together, to bring around a new breed of species, which is here on Earth, to last?

I am sure, with Mr. Verdi's clever move, it will inspire many more to take things on their own hands to be the MAKERS!

Let's just hope, the future makers will create more surprises for us to gag on just like Robert Verdi did!

Interesting Article!

Read an interesting article today, from style.com.
With such an interesting title, I can not go without reading it!

The title says :

Is Gender-Neutral Fashion The Future?

I can't agree more!
Just the other day, as I was out window shopping with a few friends, I put on a tunic, and it was hilarious!
This skin-coloured tunic, is made in some kind of Lycra-polyester material, soft and very simple cut!

Because it was hang together with the male collection, and so I thought, it must be the shop owner's eccentric idea for gender-neutral fashion! But to be very frank, I have no idea is this tunic was hung by mistake or it was indeed the owner's eccentric fashion idea! Anyhow, without thinking twice, I tried it! But too bad, it was a little too small for my size, hence the drapes were a little off-putting!

But I like the idea, of purposely hanging women's clothes on male's rack! Then should anything goes wrong, we can always blame on the shop for hanging female collection in the wrong gender rack!!
Hahaha..

Just like style.com mentioned, “Women have more options. Their collections explore different shapes, fabrics, prints, colors, proportions. Menswear collections don’t go there.” This is exactly my sentiments why I tried out that tunic without thinking twice!

Brogues are here to stay!

Does it ever happen to you, that everywhere you go, from the market to shopping malls, from the beach to train station, from airport to meeting rooms, your eyes just do not forget to scan for fashion?

I do not know how much it happens to you, but it happens to me all the while!

My eyes are like made for fashion and designer labels!

I will pay attention to everything and formulate a look using what I saw, and that usually works for me!

Lately, I have been eyeing on the colourful stole from Prada and Prada's most talked about brogues / Creeper / Espadrille inspired midsole with coloured heel! Too bad, my bank account just isn't "colourful" enough to acquire these foot candies!

I am telling you, brogues shoes are going to be around for quite a while, so get yourself a pair of brogues, and start flaunting it! There is not way, a fashionista can go by without a pair of decent brogues!

With the recent trend of foldup jeans, with colourful socks, these brogues shoes are just a perfect combination to push fashion to another level of individualism!
